What’s your company’s story?

RaceRocks believes learning should be a seamless part of life. Our mission is to enable people with virtual training systems and enable critical decision with data analytics. We are a gender balanced and inclusive team with diversity at the executive, management and team levels. We work primarily in the aerospace and defence industry.

Who do you work with? What are some interesting projects you’re involved in?

We work with the Royal Canadian Navy, Boeing, Babcock, Lockheed Martin, Airbus and Federal Fleet Services. A major accomplishments on the training side is the deployment of the first Future Naval Training System aboard MV Asterix, which at time of writing is operating in the South China Sea and has maintained 100% utilization over a year without a day of downtime, in part due to our training system. A major accomplishment on the data side is the development of a cloud-based data platform as a service for our Aerospace and Defence clients, made possible by investments from Babcock and Boeing.

What are you most proud of in the work that you do?

We are most proud of our ability to develop creative and agile solutions for our engineering focused and process driven clients. Big OEM’s and governments need to rely on teams like ours to rapidly develop solutions outside the constraints of their IT, Contracts, Legal, and HR systems. One major aerospace client called us their “Creative Therapist”

If your team had a theme song, what would it be and why?

The Gladiator soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard in its entirety, we are expecting it played as we go to the bar throughout the evening.

What are some hopes and dreams for your company?

We want to become a key home grown pillar and major employer in a $10 Billion Victoria technology industry. We want to bring foreign and federal money to the city and create an option for students to stay in here after university. We want to continue to lead the way with innovation and inclusion.

Why is Victoria a great spot for your organization?

Victoria is not only the nicest place to live in Canada, it stacks up as one of the best cities on earth. Weather, culture, ocean, wilderness, beer, tech, food, gin, people, talent…… Not too hard to attract talent when you offer competitive compensation, reasonable cost of living, and all of the above! Having hired 18 people last year and looking for another 30 this year, it’s very important to have the Victoria edge!
